New header animation!

As you can see I did new animation for the header. Main reason for that was to do a little project with Apple Shake and if possible film something with SGblade. This was a nice training process for me with Shake. I could have been a little more precise but I’m quite happy with the results.

Here’s a quick tutorial if you like to know more about what I did…
nodes

First of all I filmed myself with SGblade in HD resolution and then captured the material to computer.
In Shake I first brought that video clip and kalleoksa-graphic in with FileIn-nodes. Then I used MatchMove-node to match kalleoksa-text to movement of my hands. After that I needed to mask the text with my hands so I did a lots of rotoscoping using the rotoscope-node with both of my hands. After painful rotoscoping I layered everything with Multilayer-node. I also did a little bit of color correction with ColorCorrect- and Saturation-nodes. After color correction I realized that my text had a hint of green so I used ColorReplace-node to change it back to white. I wanted the clip to have a little vignette and I did that with gradient-node. I needed to invert it and also move it a little bit with Invert-node and Move2D-node.
I noticed that clip looked too “sturdy” and decided to use CameraShake-node to add a some camera movement. Then I used Move2D-, Zoom- and Ccrop-nodes to get proper framing. A last node is FileOut-node for outputting a movie clip.
After that I converted that mov-file to flv-file with Flash Video Encoder. Then I simply imported flv-file to Flash project and made a swf which I am using in my web page.
