This short movie was an intro for a snowboarding movie called Näköradio.
I shot this in 2005 with an old 8mm film camera Sankyo es66-xl and a 3 rolls of Kodachrome 40 film. I didn’t have the money to do a digital scan so I shot this to camcorder from projector. Maybe I will do another version in the future with proper scanned original…
This version is a re-cut because I couldn’t use the original song anymore.
I want to give a huge thanks to all who was a part of this project!
PS. Näköradio is an old finnish word for television.

I bought my Canon powershot G9 about 2 years ago when I was in Vancouver and I have to say I really like this little camera! It’s small enough to fit in to (quite a big) pocket and still have some powerful features!
I’ve always been thinking that it’s missing 2 things what I would like to have…one is internal intervalometer and other one is HD quality video mode. Well I believe there’s not going to be HD video mode but I found out that there’s a
firmware hack for G9. This hack adds intervalometer and many other features to G9. It’s a bit geeky to use the camera with this firmware hack but that’s not a big deal.
I was inspired to do this vinyl/turntable timelapse because G9 is so small that I was able to have it on turntable while it’s playing and it also has a macro mode so it was also possible to focus to vinyl.
I hope you enjoy the short movie!
Music:
Formal Disco Riot – Cronicas
I added also a couple of “behind the scenes” -shots…
